Hennepin County Waste Prevention Grants

Hennepin County now has grants available for businesses who want to prevent waste and/or improve their business recycling systems. Applications will be accepted on until November 14, 2022 or until the program project is exhausted.

Business Recycling Container Grant:

• Select from the city's offerings of blue or green containers for collecting recycling and organics and up to a 3-month supply of BPI-certified compostable bags

Business Waste Prevention Grant:

• Funding to purchase items such as:

  • Reusable food packaging

  • Reusable shipping and packaging containers

  • Dishwashing equipment

  • Food-waste tracking software

  • Freezers and refrigerators for food rescue organizations

  • Research and development of innovative waste prevention projects
