About Visit Lake Street & the Lake Street Art Drops
Lake Street Council 501(c)(3) engages, serves, and advocates for the Lake Street business community in Minneapolis to ensure the vitality and prosperity of the commercial corridor. Visit Lake Street is an initiative of the Lake Street Council
Visit Lake Street launched a new Lake Street Art Drop series that encourages people to explore, discover local artists and support small businesses along Lake Street.
The Lake Street Art Drop is a monthly scavenger hunt featuring photo clues on social media (Facebook or Instagram at @visitlakestreet) and local artwork prizes.
These art drops began in May 2023. The last one will be the night before the Art Drop & Shop on Thursday, September 7.
About the Art Drop & Shop
To participate in the Lake Street Art Drop, follow the Lake Street Council on
Artist market featuring 7 local artists with a connection to Lake Street. Most were participants in the Art Drop series.
Activities including button-making, live painting demonstration, pour paint demonstration, community painting activity, sewing activity, live apparel painting, Lake Street-themed coloring pages, community art weaving, mobile sign shop, and a table tennis trailer.
Live performances by Dan Turpening on the accordion, Puss-In-Boots by In the Heart of the Beast Theater, The Somali Museum Dance Troupe, poetry readings, and Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre
Food and drinks by Arbeiter Brewing, Peppers & Fries, and Waffle Bar
