2023 Lake Street Reimagined Recap

Lake Street Council is passionate about supporting public art on Lake Street! It makes our spaces more beautiful, showcases different cultures, and invites more people to experience Lake Street and its businesses.

Last year alone, our Lake Street Reimagined program supported:

• 20 murals

• 4 sculptures and standalone installations

• 2 vinyl art installations

• 20+ events and activity series that welcomed 12,000+ people to Lake Street 

• 6 free monthly art scavenger hunts, called the “Lake Street Art Drop”

• More than $200,000 in Placemaking & Vibrancy grants awarded

• An expansion of our Lake Street Mural Tour

We’re proud that this work has real impacts for businesses, residents and visitors on Lake Street. Mahamed Cali of Madina Mall (2833 13th Ave S) shared how, “the mural creates and generates conversations about our business. People feel like their culture is still alive, because the mural makes this place feel like home.”
