To make the campaign feel even more special, consider offering a discount or promotion to complement the Lake Street Lift initiative’s kickoff event, East Lake: Skate & Sauna (e.g. Come in any time between 6-8 p.m. on a Thursday or Friday night in March, and you get a BOGO 50%, HH deal, etc.), which begins on Thursday, March 6. These specials will help promote your business and entice eventgoers to visit after they’re done skating.

About Lake Street Lift
The Lake Street Council and Graves Foundation have launched Lake Street Lift, a new $8 million initiative to celebrate the many diverse people and places that call Lake Street home.
The new initiative funds Lake Street-wide projects, like events, murals and transforming empty lots, plus targeted assistance to eligible businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs and developers.
The goal is to cultivate a more vibrant, safe, and flourishing Lake Street.
Lake Street Lift is made possible by the Lake Street Council’s partnership with the Graves Foundation, which is supported by $8 million in state funding appropriated to the City of Minneapolis.

About East Lake: Skate & Sauna
East Lake: Skate & Sauna is the official kickoff event for Lake Street Lift programming!
Beginning Thursday, March 6, come visit the vacant lot at 2800 E Lake Street on Thursdays-Sundays in March to enjoy free ice skating on an outdoor pop-up synthetic ice rink, along with the chance to steam it out in a mobile sauna (Saturdays and Sundays only, advance sign-up required).
You can bring your own skates or rent some at no cost. Rental skates will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In addition to skating, you can enjoy on-site art installations and creative programming and learn more about the event site’s history and share your dreams for the future development of this site
Stop by a local Lake Street restaurant for a bite to eat after your skating and sauna adventure.
