In 2024, 393 people participated in the challenge, supporting 97 unique businesses in the process. Close to $26,000 was spent locally by participants, and around $6,000 worth of reward gift cards were distributed to local shoppers.

Organized by Lake Street Council and Visit Lake Street, the annual Lake Street Loyalty Challenge rewards you for supporting small businesses on Lake Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Shoppers who spend at least $15 at a Lake Street-area business will receive a $15 gift card to another local business along the corridor. Participants are also entered to win a grand prize valued at more than $1,000!

  • A $15+ purchase made between November 15, 2024, and December 15, 2024, from a small, locally-owned business within the Lake Street corridor.

    The Lake Street corridor is defined as the West River Parkway on the east, 26th Street on the north, the border of Minneapolis and St. Louis Park on the west, and 34th Street on the south.

  • There are over 2,000 businesses and non-profits in the Lake Street corridor - many of them are eligible!

    If you would like some inspiration on where to spend your money, we suggest taking a look at our Shop Local page and making sure you've achieved some items on the Lake Street Bucket List!

    If you are unsure about a specific business, contact us!

  • Yes! Donations to non-profits count so long as they meet all these requirements:

    • A single donation is made between November 15 - December 15, 2024.

    • The donation is $15+

    • The donation is made to a non-profit located within the Lake Street corridor.

    • A receipt or acknowledgment letter showing the date of donation, donation total, and name of the non-profit is submitted.

  • Please make sure your receipt shows:

    • Date of purchase

    • Name of the business

    • Purchase total

    You are welcome to cover up any other personal information!

  • No, there is a limit of 1 $15 gift card per receipt and per participant. Additional submissions will not result in multiple $15 gift card prizes or be counted as additional entries to the grand prize drawing.

  • No, all submissions from the same household must be unique. There is a limit of 1 receipt per participant. If the same receipt is submitted multiple times, only the first submission will receive the gift card.

  • We do not accept requests for a specific gift card. One of the objectives of the Lake Street Loyalty Challenge is to encourage you to try new-to-you businesses!

  • If you select email delivery, your gift card will be ordered to be sent to the provided email address by December 23, 2024.

    If you select mail delivery, your gift card will be mailed through USPS to the provided mailing address by December 23, 2024.

  • All gift cards will be ordered to be sent by email or mailed through USPS by December 23, 2024. There is no guaranteed delivery date.

    If there are any issues with the delivery of your gift card, you will be contacted via the provided email address.

  • If you selected the preference for a digital gift card, please mind your junk/spam folder as the gift card may be automatically sorted into that folder.

The Fine Print

To participate, you must provide proof of purchase between November 15, 2024, and December 15, 2024, from a small, locally-owned business within the Lake Street corridor. A small, locally-owned business is defined as a business or non-profit with less than 25 brick-and-mortar locations in Minnesota and owned by a local. The Lake Street corridor is defined as the West River Parkway on the east, 26th Street on the north, the border of Minneapolis and St. Louis Park on the west, and 34th Street on the south. The $15 minimum must have been met with a single purchase.

Participants will receive one $15 gift card from one of the pre-selected businesses. You will also receive one entry to the grand prize.

Limit one $15 gift card and one entry per participant. Limit one $15 gift card per transaction, a receipt may not used for more than one person. If you upload two or more qualifying receipts, you will only receive one gift card.

The deadline to submit your receipt is December 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CST. The winner of the grand prize will be notified by December 16, 2024. All prizes will be e-mailed or mailed to participants by December 23, 2024. Lake Street Council is not liable for any prizes that are lost or stolen.

Participation is limited and can be closed at any point before December 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CST.
