Latino Business Week

September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month. The City of Minneapolis is happy to host the first Latino Business Week in Minneapolis, Sunday, October 6 through Sunday, October 13.

Latino Business Week events

Kickoff event | Sunday, October 6 | 2:00 - 6:00 pm | Mercado Central, 1515 E Lake St

Join us at the kickoff event co-hosted by Major Frey and Council Member Chavez. The kickoff will happen at the historic Mercado Central location. Mercado Central will allow outside vendors to sell during the kickoff. Music, performers and a panel will be occurring throughout the day.

Business Plan Workshop & City of Minneapolis Commercial Loans | Tuesday, October 8 | 3:00 - 6:00 pm | East Side Neighborhood Services, 1700 NE Second St

These workshops will be held in Spanish:

  • 3:00 – 5:00 pm Learn how to structure your business idea into a business plan. Limited seats are available.

  • 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Learn about low-interest loans and the Ownership and Opportunity Fund. Limited seats are available.

Meet service providers and get your questions answered! Topics include:

  • Immigration pathways to US employment authorization

  • Workers' rights

  • Drivers licenses and state IDs

  • What is an ITIN #?

  • Job seeking with an employment authorization document.

Lake Street Council will provide general information and resources for Lake Street Businesses.

Latinx Farmers Market Pop-up | Sunday, October 13 | 4:00 - 7:00 pm | Farmers Market Annex, 200 E Lyndale Ave N

A vibrant showcase of Latin cuisine, snacks, and music. Support local farmers, stock up on fresh locally grown produce, and explore various community resources. Family-friendly activities include:

  • Making Ofrendas

  • Face painting

  • Dancing to live music
