Calhoun-Isles

ECCO (East Calhoun)

Bordered by Lake Street on the north and 36th Street on the south. Calhoun Parkway is the western extent of East Calhoun, which runs to Hennepin Avenue to the east. Lake Calhoun, one of Minneapolis’ most popular attractions, is at the neighborhood’s western border. A wide variety of amenities are located in and around East Calhoun including shops, restaurants, night clubs, movie theaters, coffee shops and grocery stores. Read more

East Isles

The neighborhood’s name reflects the small isles in the lake. Lake of the Isles with Lake Calhoun is one of the most popular recreational destinations in Minneapolis. The Midtown Greenway, a converted railroad line featuring bike and walking paths, runs through the southern part of the neighborhood and connects it with Hiawatha Avenue on the east and the city limits on the west. Lowry Hill East (The Wedge)

Phillips

Phillips is a diverse area in many ways: its population includes people of many nationalities; it has a mix of residential, commercial and industrial uses; and it is home to several large employers such as Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Wells Fargo Mortgage and Allina Health Care Services, the Green Institute/Phillips Eco-Enterprise Center, along with small neighborhood businesses. The Midtown Exchange project—which redeveloped the vacant Sears building at Chicago Avenue and Lake Street into a mixed-used development of offices, hotel, retail, a global market, and housing is one of the neighborhood’s great assets.
